Pictures of the Spring 2005 HERO Launch
The payload hangs from the launch truck (top and middle left) while the
balloon is filled (middle right, note the HERO payload and launch truck
on the left in this photo and the balloon on the right being filled).
The balloon quickly ascended to an altitude of about 130,000 ft (about 25 miles).
Pictures were taken on the way up (top). Timothy Lim of NCAR captured a
picture (left) from Clayton, NM, when HERO was high overhead.
