[Artist's Concept of AXAF-I] AXAF Project Science: The HRMA at the XRCF

------------------------------------------------------------------

The PEIS was located on-axis at a distance of 518.16 m from the focus. The HRMA effective area and solid angle was calculated using a geometric ray trace in Mathematica, with reflectivity derived from atomic scattering factors from Henke, B.L., Gullickson, E.M, and Davis, J.C., 1994, Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 54, 181-342. The ray trace calculations include effects caused by finite source distance at the XRCF, but does not include the finite spot size of the EIPS, nor source-HRMA misalignments, mirror-shell misalignmnets, figure errors, or scattering from the surface of the mirror. The effective area and solid angle are available in tabular and graphical formats.
