CXO Project Science:
Tantalum shielding viewed from HRC-I, during HRC-I observation

------------------------------------------------------------------

Figures display tantalum components as viewed from the HRC-I focal plane. Key components are the magnet baffle (blue), the stovepipe and brim (green), the focus-structure baffle (yellow) and the limiting aperture of the HRC snout (red). The left panel displays the existing focus-structure baffle, its full extent (line) and the central 21-in diameter (solid); the right panel omits all focus-structure shielding.

At the worst-case HRC-I location (+Z vertex), removal of all focus-structure tantalum exposes approximately 0.04 sr. Although the focus-structure shielding blocks all gaps within the HRC snout, it is redundant outside about a 21-in diameter.
